“Among the highlights of the eclectic Tête à Tête Festival is Errollyn Wallen's family-inspired show. She tells Time Out about how she and her brother turned blood into music …”

Errollyn and Byron talk about their show on BBC Radio 4's Front Row »
“The one bright spot in the evening was 'Wallen', the childhood story of composer, singer and pianist Errollyn Wallen and her trumpeter brother Byron. Thought-provoking and charming, it had none of the pretentions of the other works. The extravagantly talented Wallens simply told us their story through prose, poetry, photographs and their own highly attractive music. Delightful.”

Sheila Hill's The Question Room celebrates the power and humour of a young child's science questions, but avoids the limits and irritations of answering! A quiet reflective enclosed space to rest and think.

'WALLEN' is an experience – it is a show that combines charismatic music performance with elements of music theatre. The inspiration behind this show is a story that has never before been told – the remarkable and unique story of two of the UK's brightest musical talents – brother and sister Byron and Errollyn Wallen. Their unconventional upbringing forced them to re-define and challenge notions of belonging, distance, and boundaries. The show will be an endless stream of music set against a backdrop of images taking the audience on a journey to Belize (their country of origin), to London, to New York; crucial marking places in the Wallens' personal and professional lives.
'WALLEN' marks the first time they have collaborated together as a duet, and in this unforgettable show, Errollyn (piano/voice) and Byron (trumpet/flute) will bring together classical, jazz, world and popular music.
“Errollyn Wallen, the renaissance woman of contemporary British music.” – The Observer
“Byron Wallen is one of the most innovative, exciting and original trumpet players alive.” – Jazzwise
